Look into the past

We congratulated BSA’s 100th anniversary and shared info on the Regional Sea Scout Committee with bios on the Commodore and four Flotilla Chairs.  NER’s own Connor Rieve (Ship 110 CT) in his position as National Boatswain delivered the BSA Report to the Nation in Washington DC.  We reported on the Northeast Region Sailing Championships which were in preparation for the 2010 William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup which returned to New London, CT and the NER sent seven crews (Vol 14 No 3).  We also saw what Ship 5 PA sea scouts do when the water is too frozen to sail on it, confirmed our Weather Smarts, and Safety at Sea with the US Coast Guard.  We reported annual events such as the Chesapeake Flotilla’s Catoctin Weekend Training, Regional Bridge of Honor and Sea Scout Ball, Liberty Flotilla’s SUNY Training Day, Sheffield Island GAM, SEAL cruises held in the NER, Seabadge SB-2-NY-2010 in Staten Island and Seabadge Underway in NER water.  We visited the National Jamboree Sea Scout exhibit.   And we announced the new edition of the Sea Scout Manual (No.33239)
